Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time by the sea…
I go in the mornings when there aren’t many people around. I sit on a rock and just watch the sea.
The sea is different at different times. In the morning it’s generally calm. The water is like glass. You can see very far.
There’s a different peace in those moments. You feel like you’re alone in the world. There’s just you and the sea.
I think a lot in those moments. About life, about myself, about my relationships… The sea helps me see things more clearly.
Sometimes I get up and walk along the shore. I like walking barefoot on the sand. The feeling of sand under my feet relaxes me.
I collect seashells. I examine each one. Each is different, each has its own story. Just like people…
Sometimes I see fishermen. They come early in the morning and throw their lines into the sea. Then they wait patiently. Sometimes they catch fish, sometimes they don’t. But it doesn’t matter. Because for them, what’s important is not catching fish but being there, being alone with the sea.
I understand them. Because I feel the same way. What matters to me is not doing something but being there, being alone with the sea.
The sea gives me peace, it gives me serenity. It helps me empty my mind. When I’m by the sea, all my problems become smaller.
That’s why time spent by the sea is very valuable to me. It’s like therapy for me…
