Forgiving…
One of the most difficult things to do.
When someone hurts us, our first reaction is usually anger. We want revenge, we want them to suffer too.
But holding onto anger only hurts us. It’s like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
Forgiving doesn’t mean what they did was okay. It doesn’t mean we forget what happened. It just means we’re letting go of the anger, the resentment.
Forgiving is actually a gift we give ourselves. Because when we forgive, we free ourselves. We’re no longer prisoners of the past.
I know forgiving is not easy. Especially when the hurt is deep. But holding onto anger is much harder.
So let’s learn to forgive. Not for them, but for ourselves. Because we deserve to be free…
